Cameron Highlands is a place where you will find an abundance of vegetables and fruits farms located 1500 meters above sea level. The temperatures here can be as low as 16 ˚C. It is the largest and most famous hill resort in the country.
The name Cameron Highlands came from a British surveyor, William Cameron who stumbled across the plateau in 1885 during a mapping expedition. In 1929, John Archibald Russell, who was the son of a British Administrative officer started a tea plantation which is now the famous Boh Tea Plantation.
In recent years, due to increasing tourist arrivals, there have been smaller farms cropping up all over the highlands. These farms produce everything from flowers and vegetables to strawberries. These are primarily for walk in tourists. The other bigger farms that produce vegetables for the nation’s consumptions are usually not on the tourist map.
The tea plantation is one of the must-see features of Cameron Highlands. Here, we can visit the factories to see the tea production.

There are also growing and selling all kind of cactus here. Many people prefer to buy a cactus since it is easier to take care of cactus rather than flowers. The most famous cactus is the red cactus since the color attracts many tourists to buy even though its cover with thorns.

You can find that there are many markets along the streets in Cameron Highlands. These markets are selling all the vegetables, fruits, and flowers that were planted there. This place will be crowded with tourists especially during Saturday nights.

I believe that most people who loves fresh air will come to this place. The air is different from the one that we breathe in the city. So, this is the best holiday place especially for anyone who enjoy fresh vegetables and fruit.
